About

From sketchbook to balance sheet.

Portrait of Ruchi Verma

At NIFT I learned how a piece is designed. Soon after graduating I wanted to know how it is made, priced and sold, so I started my own label, Rayana Jewels, and spent four years learning it first-hand. Luxury management at Neoma and Politecnico di Milano gave those lessons a frame.

Selected for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women scholarship at the Indian School of Business in 2013, I have since worked on the product from every side: lab-grown diamonds in Antwerp, luxury accounts at Sunjewels, brand services at Walking Tree and Imaginarium, and an India manufacturing office at MadeTruly. Brands call me when a problem sits between design, cost and the factory.

I have spent over 16 years in the jewellery industry, across product, manufacturing, supply chain and business strategy.
